- Please lift bed head for 25-35 degrees above after surgery for cleansing airway and for removing phlegm.
- If there is any conditions, including having difficulty in breathing, having swollen feeling at bleeding part, having convulsed limbs, or having numb face, please inform medical attendants immediately.
- Please avoid moving injured part after surgery for preventing external bleeding.
- Please put cold pack on injured part for 24 hours.
- Having cold foods is strongly advised after surgery for preventing bleeding of injured part, such as having ice cream or pudding.
- Patient is able to get off bed for free activities 2nd days after surgery. Please have both hands to support neck for relieving pains.
- Avoiding having irritant foods, such as cigarette, alcohol, and coffee.
- Must not apply irritant medicinal paste onto injured part for delaying its recovery.
- Ingesting nutrient balanced, easily iodine-resolved, and easily absorbed foods, such as sea foods, algae, or sea weeds.
- After removing stitches for injured part, in order to remove scars on neck, may put on paper tape on injured part and message gently with cold cream.
- May use decoration or high-end clothes to cover up scars on neck.
- Please must have medicine under doctor’s instruction without casually skipping or stopping.
- Please always watch for the following symptoms of hyperthyroidism:
(1) Emotions become more easily-agitated, and fingers tremble while exerting out.
(2) Skin becomes damp and hot.
(3) 85% of patients are also infected with exophthalmia.
- If the following symptoms are appeared on patient after leaving hospital, please turn for treatment.
(1) Hypothyroidism: exhaustion, bad appetite, irregular menses, less hair, more cracked finger nails, dry skin, numb fingers, or decreasing sexual desire.
(2) Hyperparathyroidism: numb hands, decreasing calcemia, or numb mouth.
