- After surgery, confined to bed for 24 hours, don’t step down from the bed.
- After urinating, the patient can start to take food.
- After surgery, if the patient can’t urinate, the wound bleeding and seriously painful for more than 8 hours, should notice nursing staff immediately.
- Don’t take off the gauze on anus, the doctor will take it off afterwards.
- To take hot bath to accelerate blood circulation and healing up of the wound around anus area following the doctor’s instruction.
Method: Prepare a large washbowl filling with hot water (not too hot, avoid burning), then buttocks sit into it for 15 minutes, wipe out the area of the anus afterwards. At least 4 times a day: morning, noon, afternoon before going to bed and after defecating.
- Defecate everyday as usual, recover to daily life the day after surgery.
- After being discharged from hospital, continue taking hot bath, go back to the hospital for subsequent visit after one week.
- Take more fruits, vegetables, honey, milk to prevent constipation and maintain defecation habit on schedule, take laxative when necessary.
- Avoid standing, sitting, squatting for a long time and keep anus clean.
