- Never press or twist the catheter to keep it unblocked.
- Doctors would use physiological saline to wash bladder according to the situation so that urine would change from red to tinge. Follow doctor’s instructions to get off bed.
- In order to prevent from bleeding, please pay attention to the following points:
1. The catheter traction after surgery will tract and fix the catheter, please keep both legs straight and refix the catheter according to the condition.
2. Intake water every day (e.g. juice, soup, fruit, etc) about 3000CC or more.
3. Eat more high fibre food such as vegetable or fruit to prevent the wound from injured or bleeding caused by the force of urinating.
- After catheter is removed, if there is physconia or no urination in four hours, please tell the nursing staff to notify the doctor to give proper treatment.
- It is better not to go up and down stairs or do strenuous exercise in the first two weeks, avoid sitting for too long, sitting on a stool, riding a bicycle or motorcycle in the first three months and don’t crouch for too long.
- When your catheter is just removed, if you have urgent urination, uracratia, frequent micturition, odynuria, and slight blood urine, these are temporary symptoms after surgery. The patient should come back to hospital in three months.
- After you leave the hospital, please observe your urination condition. If you have blood urine, difficulty in urinating or continual large amount blood urine, please come back to hospital immediately. (Register for emergency treatment or outpatient service)
