- Maintain the wound compress clean and dry, apply with a PE bag over the wound for protection when having a bath.
- Closely watch to see if the wound yields any sign of secondary bleeding or otherwise anomaly, note that 8~12 houurs after a wound is formed, the tissue will swell again, so the wound spot will have to be raised to alleviate the swelling.
- Where the wound happened on a joint, the joint must maintain straight and level flat, to avoid the compress from ripping apart due to a pull of the seam.
- Don’t apply any ointment that has not been approved by the doctor on the wound, lest inflammation should develop.
- Input oral drugs on time as directed on the recipe.
- Return to the hospital for checkup in the event of any sign of infection emerging on the wound: reddening, swelling, pain, presence of secretion or a fever.
- Avoid exposing the wound to any vehement sports effect lest it should rip apart to cause trouble again.
- Act as instructed by the doctor: return to the clinic service for replacement of compress and removal of the stitches, on date due.
