- Please raise wounded limb (above heart) for rest, in order to relieve swelling.
- Please apply cold pack at the first 48 hours as soon as possible, and do not apply ice cubes directly onto skin, but through towel or handkerchief.
- Please apply hot pack after 48 hours.
- If there is some wound on skin from sprain, must watch for cleansing wounds.
- Must apply elastic bandage to straighten wounded limb, and should re-do tying if it’s too tight or too loose for patient.
- May support upper part of limbs with triangle sheet.
- Must move fingers or toes in order to relieve swelling and avoid becoming stiff.
- Please remember to return to Orthopaedic Department for follow-up treatment.
