The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine is belonged to the Medical Management Department in our hospital. It is divided into three Divisions: Anatomic pathology, Clinical pathology and Blood bank. The Clinical Pathology also divided into three Groups: Clinical Biochemistry & Immunology, Outpatients and Emergency and Microbiology examinations. The members of the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine include the team leaders and senior medical technologists, cytological technologists. All divisions are assigned a dedicated anatomical pathologist and clinical pathologist is responsible for providing clinical testing services and clinician counseling.

To improve the quality of medical testing services, to participate in domestic and foreign proficiency tests and the third party of the assessment and certification to confirm the accuracy and precision of the inspection report, and to ensure the operation of quality system. The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine is accredited by TAF ISO 15189 Medical Laboratory, also certified by the Symbol of National Quality (SNQ) of Institute for Biotechnology and Medicine Industry (IBMI), and Executive Yuan infectious disease inspection agency certification of the medical laboratory.

Clinical Service

• Anatomic Pathology

Diagnosis and consultation for general and surgical pathology, cytopathology diagnosis and consultation, special (histochemical) & immunohistochemical (IHC) stains, tumor pathology, immunology and molecular pathology diagnosis etc.

• Clinical Pathology

1. Outpatients & Emergency Examination:

Emergency medical examinations, general blood, urine and stool routine analysis, cardiovascular marker tests, Influenza PCR and blood gas analysis etc.

2. Clinical Biochemistry & Immunology:

Clinical routine (special) biochemical tests, serum immunological tests, virological and immunological tests etc.

3. Microbiological Examination:

General microbiological culture and identifications, antimicrobial susceptibility tests, Gram stain and Acid-fast stain, Mycobacterium tuberculosis PCR analysis etc.

4. Blood Bank Transfusion Medicine:

All kinds of blood grouping & blood type analysis and supplement, special antibody screening, blood transfusion reaction evaluation etc.
