Organizational Structure

The primary responsibility of the Cancer Committee is to establish the policy direction for cancer care within the hospital and to oversee the effectiveness of the Cancer Center’s implementation. Its goal is to enhance the quality of cancer care, education, and research within the institution, as well as to coordinate and promote the integration of cancer-related medical resources. The Cancer Center serves as the executive unit of the hospital’s Cancer Committee and consists of seven working groups: the Administrative Management Group, Cancer Registration Group, Case Management Group, Multidisciplinary Team, Cancer Screening Group, Resource Center, and Tumor Psychologists. The center fosters inter-hospital and interdisciplinary administrative initiatives for cancer screening and clinical treatment, thereby fulfilling the medical center’s commitment to public health.

Team Features

  1. Gastrointestinal Cancer Multidisciplinary Team
    The medical team develops the hospital’s cancer treatment consensus based on the treatment guidelines established by the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) in the United States. They conduct regular multidisciplinary team meetings every month, including ad-hoc sessions, as well as quarterly Cancer Committee meetings. During these meetings, various experts are invited to present seminars focused on cancer-related treatments, with the goal of enhancing the quality of care for colorectal cancer patients both within the hospital and throughout the southern Taoyuan area.
  2. Urological Cancer Multidisciplinary Team
    The hospital has assembled a multidisciplinary team consisting of urologists, radiologists, pathologists, radiation oncologists, hematology oncologists, cancer case managers, and nutritionists to focus on urological cancer. This team develops the hospital’s cancer treatment protocols in accordance with the NCCN guidelines. They hold regular multidisciplinary team meetings each month, along with ad-hoc sessions and quarterly Cancer Committee meetings. Various experts are invited to conduct seminars to share and discuss cancer-related treatments, with the aim of enhancing the quality of care for urological cancer patients both within the hospital and throughout the southern Taoyuan area. The hospital has also joined a community medical network that integrates relevant small and medium-sized hospitals and clinics in the region to reduce duplication and waste of medical resources.
  3. Breast Cancer Multidisciplinary Team
    The medical team develops the hospital’s cancer treatment protocols in accordance with the NCCN guidelines. They conduct regular multidisciplinary team meetings each month, including ad-hoc sessions, as well as quarterly Cancer Committee meetings. Various experts are invited to lead seminars to share and discuss cancer-related treatments, with the aim of enhancing the quality of care for breast cancer patients in the hospital and the southern Taoyuan area.
  4. Head and Neck Medical Team
    The medical team develops the hospital’s cancer treatment consensus in accordance with the NCCN treatment guidelines. They hold regular multidisciplinary team meetings every month, including ad-hoc meetings, as well as quarterly Cancer Committee meetings. Various experts are invited to conduct seminars to share and discuss cancer-related treatments. Additionally, the hospital collaborates with the National Health Bureau’s cancer screening service program to actively promote oral cancer screening activities, establishing the principle of “early diagnosis, early treatment” to reduce the incidence and mortality rates of oral cancer.
  5. Thoracic Cancer Multidisciplinary Team
    The hospital has assembled a team of specialists, including pulmonologists, thoracic surgeons, hematology oncologists, radiation oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, nutritionists, and palliative care experts, to create a comprehensive thoracic cancer care team. This team develops the hospital’s cancer treatment protocols in accordance with the NCCN guidelines. They hold regular multidisciplinary team meetings each month, as well as quarterly Cancer Committee meetings. Additionally, they invite various experts to lead seminars aimed at sharing and discussing cancer-related treatments, with the goal of enhancing the quality of care for lung cancer patients both within the hospital and throughout the southern Taoyuan area.
  6. Multidisciplinary Team for Liver Cancer
    The hospital has assembled a multidisciplinary team comprising gastroenterologists, general surgeons, radiologists, pathologists, radiation oncologists, hematology oncologists, cancer case managers, and nutritionists to address upper gastrointestinal cancers. The hospital’s cancer treatment protocols align with the NCCN guidelines. The team conducts regular multidisciplinary meetings each month, including ad-hoc sessions, as well as quarterly Cancer Committee meetings. These gatherings invite various experts to lead seminars aimed at sharing and discussing cancer-related treatments, with the objective of enhancing the quality of care for liver and stomach cancer patients. The hospital has integrated relevant small and medium-sized hospitals and clinics in the region into a cohesive medical network to minimize duplication and waste of medical resources.
  7. Female Cancer Multidisciplinary Team
    The medical team develops the hospital’s cancer treatment consensus in accordance with the NCCN treatment guidelines. They hold regular multidisciplinary team meetings every month, including ad-hoc meetings, as well as quarterly Cancer Committee meetings. Various experts are invited to conduct seminars to share and discuss cancer-related treatments. The hospital’s cervical cancer team has expanded, and in February 2022, Dr. Wang Chen-Yu from the Tri-Service General Hospital’s Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology was invited to join, broadening the services available to female cancer patients in southern Taoyuan.
  8. Hematologic and Lymphatic Cancer Multidisciplinary Team
    The hospital has assembled a multidisciplinary team that includes hematology oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, radiation oncologists, cancer case managers, and nutritionists to address hematologic and lymphatic cancers. The hospital’s cancer treatment protocols align with the NCCN guidelines. The team holds regular monthly meetings, including ad-hoc sessions, as well as quarterly Cancer Committee meetings. These gatherings invite various experts to conduct seminars aimed at sharing and discussing cancer-related treatments, with the objective of enhancing the quality of care for patients with hematologic and lymphatic cancers. The hospital aims to integrate small and medium-sized hospitals and clinics into a cohesive medical network for improved patient care.
