Introduction

To enhance the quality of medical care for patients and serve the residents of the southern Taoyuan area, the Taoyuan Armed Forces General Hospital established the Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Center on January 18, 2016. Located on the first floor of the medical building, this center is staffed by a medical team that includes Dr. Wu Gengqin from the Department of Thoracic Medicine, Dr. Chen Bozhong from the Department of Family Medicine, and Dr. Zhang Zhefeng. All physicians are licensed specialists in hyperbaric oxygen therapy, and the center employs two professional technicians who have completed accredited training from the Hyperbaric Medicine Association.

In addition, we have introduced the HAUX-STARMED 2000 multi-person hyperbaric oxygen chamber from Germany. This steel chamber accommodates 10 individuals in the main chamber and 2 in the auxiliary chamber. This facility provides the safest, highest quality, and most advanced hyperbaric oxygen therapy, delivering exceptional medical services in a comfortable treatment environment.

1. What is Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy?

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy involves treatment in a hyperbaric chamber at pressures exceeding 1.4 absolute atmospheres, where 100% pure oxygen is inhaled either indirectly (through a mask or hood) or directly. This therapeutic approach is commonly known as hyperbaric oxygen therapy.

2. Mission of the Center

As the responsibility center hospital for the Northern Combat Zone, our facility not only provides comprehensive medical equipment to support the health of military personnel and their families but also offers medical care to the general public in the Taoyuan, Hsinchu, and Miaoli regions. We are actively preparing to become a designated hospital for severe emergency care, thereby enhancing the quality of the medical services we provide. This commitment is exemplified by the establishment of the Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Center.

3. How to Seek Medical Care

Please schedule an appointment with Dr. Chen Bozhong, Dr. Zhang Zhefeng, or Dr. Wu Gengqin at the outpatient clinic, or visit the Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Center. After the physician evaluates your eligibility for treatment, we will arrange treatment times at our center.
